Project Manager-Personal Financial Planner
 
 The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) 
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) is in the process of relocating a substantial portion of its business to Durham, NC. Join us in our new facility a Project Manager —Personal Financial Planning on our Specialized Communities and Practice Management Team, and help us grow.

The Specialized Communities and Practice Management Team encompasses the following areas:

Personal Financial Planning (PFP)

Business Valuation (BV)

Forensic and Litigation Support (FLS)

Information Technology (IT)

It also encompasses Management of Accounting and Niche Practices (MAP) through the Private Company Practice Section (PCPS), a network of firms served by this Team. PCPS members are CPA firms that primarily serve private companies and small business.

The Team is responsible for the core disciplines of PFP, BV, FLS, IT and MAP and the AICPA Membership Sections for those disciplines and the related credentials:

Personal Financial Specialist (PFS)

Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV)

Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP).

The team’s overall activities include development of the discipline subject matter, advocacy for members, practice tools and aids, benchmarks, education, best practices, alliances, publications, Section and Credential growth, standards in specialized practice, and functioning as a resource for other practice areas such as audit, tax, consulting, and professional ethics.

The Team directly interfaces with a variety of specific member volunteer committees and task forces that function in the above areas.

The Project Manager—Personal Financial Planning is a team oriented, flexible, highly efficient professional with strong organizational and communication skills, who is able to balance multiple projects. The role is part of the PFP Project Team consisting of six professionals and involves the execution of various ongoing services, programs, and special projects for the PFP Section and PFS Credential holders.


Responsibilities:

Develop practice aids and tools;

Work with alliance organizations;

PFS administration, application, recertification, and renewal processes;

Prepare member communications and special reports;

Oversee webinars and webcasts;

Provide conference input;

Coordinate, update, and improve web content;

Oversee the coordination of requests from Section and
Credential members and more;

Perform various research;

Facilitate meetings (both phone and in-person).


Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience; CPA a plus;

Experience in a CPA firm, financial planning or financial services practice or department of a financial institution, insurance company, or financial services firm. This experience can include a combination of experience in financial planning client service, firm management, and administration;
PFP, PFS designations are a bonus;

Activity in AICPA and/or State Society Committee is a plus.
