Tax Update and Year-End Planning Strategies

This seminar will feature an update of recent changes in the tax law, a discussion of the latest “buzz” from Washington regarding future tax changes and a presentation of proven strategies that investors can use to minimize their tax burden. Specific topics discussed include:
- How can I lessen the impact of the “AMT Monster”?
- What are the Pros and Cons of the “Mark to Market” election?
- How can I tell if a Roth IRA conversion makes sense for me?
- How does the timing of capital gains affect my total tax?
- Which charitable giving strategies offer the most tax savings?
“Mentor, Mentee, Mentos” New Member Reception
Mentors are needed for our growing body of new members. We are asking that Mentors be willing to offer one hour a week for two months to talk about the business with a Mentee – via e-mail, phone or in person. Many of our new members have made significant commitments to not only their education, but for some, a major reduction in salary and benefits in order to pursue this career. While the CFP raises the standards that further enhance this profession, we need to offer support at the local level that leads to a healthy and sustainable community.
