Position Overview
We have a full time position available for a “Financial Planning Associate/Paraplanner”. This position plays an integral role in the firms operation and future growth. Standard hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday with a one hour break for lunch.
The salary is negotiable, depending upon demonstrated ability and previous experience in the financial planning industry. Salary structure consists of a base salary and ultimately a bonus tied to the firm’s revenue. The bonus is paid on a monthly basis. A retirement plan and additional employee benefits are also available.
Mission
In the challenging role of “Financial Planning Associate/Paraplanner”, you will be responsible for helping the Senior Advisor by completing financial plans, assisting with investment plan recommendations, interacting with clients with planning issues and questions as well as helping the Senior Advisor prepare for all client reviews. You will also constantly evaluate, improve, and document changes to our current financial planning systems and processes to increase client satisfaction, productivity, and accuracy.
Responsibilities and Activities
- Create financial plans using Money Guide Pro and assist Senior Advisor in preparing recommendations for presentation to existing and prospective clients
- Assist clients with basic planning issues, questions, and problems by telephone, email, and in person
- Meet with SIMPLE IRA and 401K clients to do enrollments
- Proactively contact clients
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients
- Verify that clients are taking all RMD’s as required
- Serve as point of contact to service new and existing clients
- Coordinate, plan, and promote client events
- Set marketing deadlines for Senior Advisor and keep advisor on-task with marketing activities
- Anticipate Senior Advisor’s needs and handle them proactively

Essential
- Ambitious with the drive and the commitment to succeed personally and professionally
- An interest in and excellent knowledge of investments, life insurance, and estate planning
- Ability to accurately handle a multitude of projects simultaneously with extreme attention to detail
- An amazing attitude and extra ordinary customer service skills
- Excellent technical skills including proficiency with: Money Guide Pro, Advent, Morningstar Advisor Workstation, Goldmine, Forefield Advisor, as well as Microsoft Office Suite products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to prioritize work and operate successfully under deadlines
- 5 or more years of high level Financial Planning experience with the desire to create new and better systems that produce planning excellence
- Life and health insurance license
- Series 7 & 65 securities licenses
Desirable
- One or more of the following: CFP™, MSFS, CLU, ChFC, PFS
